摘　　要：福克纳塑造了多个白痴形象,他们在小说中举足轻重,是有丰富内涵、立得住的人物典型。这些孤苦无告的白痴是人类苦难的象征,他们为小说营造阴郁的氛围,奠定惨苦的基调,成功地表达了福克纳独特的人生体验:人生中充满着痛苦和磨难,人活着就是受苦,这是人永恒的命运。William Faulkner creates multiple images of idiots that play vital roles and have rich connotation in his novels. These solitary and miserable idiots, who are symbol of human sufferings, build gl th to oomy atmosphere and miserable tone for the novel, and successfully express the unique life experiences of e writer, which telling us that life is full of pains and sufferings, and the eternal destiny of human being is endure.
