摘　　要：在雷蒙·威廉斯看来,之前的马克思主义理论过于强调社会之中的政治和经济维度,而没有赋予文化维度以足够的重视。为重振其时已走入低谷的社会主义事业,威廉斯将目光投向了"文化",将其视为自己政治筹划的"希望的资源"。带着这一政治使命感,威廉斯不仅重新检视了英国经典文学文本,并且高度评价了正蓬勃发展的各种大众文化和大众传播形式。正是由于他对电视和电影等全新大众传播形式所进行的细致入微的分析,使得他一跃成为现代意义上的英国文化研究事业的开创者。时下,文化研究已经成为一种在世界范围内播散的知识形式,本文将在集中论述威廉斯文化研究实践特征的基础之上,针对当下中国文化研究事业所遭到的种种批评,揭示威廉斯对重构文化研究话语的启示意义。In Raymond Williams＇ theoretical formulation, Marxist theorists before him lay too much emphasis on the political and economic dimensions while the cultural sphere of the society is very much neglected. To revitalize the socialist cause, Williams turns his attention to ＂culture＂ and regards these various cultural forms as his ＂resources of hope＂. Motivated by this political mission, Williams not only reevaluates the literary canon in English literature, but also thinks highly of the new forms of popular culture and mass communication. Due to his penetrating analysis of these new forms of mass communication like TV and films, he is now accredited as the forerunner of cultural studies in its modem sense. Currently, cultural studies has already become an important form of knowledge in world academia. Based on an analysis of the characteristics of Raymond Williams＇ endeavors in cultural studies, this paper also undertakes to illustrate Williams＇ significance for Chinese cultural studies which is now under severe criticism from many scholars.
