摘 要:作为学习外语的一种主要输入形式,阅读在二语习得中起到了重要的作用。然而,现代大学生的阅读现状却并不乐观。提高学生语篇结构意识就被提出来作为解决此问题的办法之一。提高学生的语篇结构意识可以帮助学生站在全文的高度理解阅读材料,而不仅仅是获得词汇或句子的一些片段信息。“Reading is one of the most uniquely human and complex of al cognitive activities, helping learners to learn how to read and further develop their reading skills will help them learn from text by themselves” (Zhang, 2008, p110). As a kind of input in EFL or ESL learning, reading plays a very important role in Second Language Acquisition. Reading can facilitate students to acquire and develop their language skil s (Krashen, 1993). With the help of reading, students can produce their own output. However, reading is a difficult skil for Chinese learners to master meanwhile, just like my students in China. I teach college English for first-year and second-year non-English major students in Guizhou Province in China. Our university is a school where students mainly consist of minority people. Most of students there come from the rural places and they have a poor command of English. We do not separate reading course into intensive reading course and extensive reading course, while we take it as a whole, namely, comprehensive reading course. 50 students are a usual number in a English class. They attend different English classes not according to their English levels but their majors, so there are students with different English levels in the same class. In process of my teaching and the learning process of my students, we meet a great deal of difficulties. Due to the space limitation, I wil just focus on one of them, that is, how to raise students’ awareness of discourse structure and organization in this paper.
