摘 要:中国近代音乐家、音乐教育家萧友梅(1884—1940)在德国留学时曾受学于著名音乐学家胡戈·里曼,并在他的指导下,按照"历史音乐学"理论的框架完成了博士论文《十七世纪以前的中国管弦乐队的历史的研究》。萧友梅回国后即撰文向国人介绍了音乐学及胡戈·里曼的"五分法"体系,这是中国人了解西方音乐学最早的中文材料。20世纪50年代后,学界对胡戈·里曼的介绍和研究一度沉寂下来,改革开放后其价值才逐渐为国人所知。Xiao Youmei( 1884-1940),a modern Chinese musician and music educator, pursued studies in Germany under the auspice of Hugo Riemann, a famous musicologist and, with his guidance and in the framework of "historical musicology", wrote his doctoral dissertation A Study of the History of Orchestral Music in China before the Seventeenth Century. Upon his return to his motherland, Xiao Youmei wrote articles to introduce musicology and Hugo Riemann's "quintiles" system to his compatriots, the earliest materials in Chinese through which the Chinese people were acquainted with Western musicology . After the 1950s research on and introduction of Hugo Riemann were discontinued and it was not until the reform-andopen up campaign that his value was rediscovered.
