摘　　要：学界在英语全球化的标准问题上长期争论不休,一方面是因为标准问题的实质是政治问题,另一方面是由于学界在研究英语全球化的标准问题和政治问题时走入了误区。鉴于此,本文首先探讨了语言标准化的规律,阐释了英语全球化的标准为何须以英美标准为基础,并分析了人们提出本土化理论的原因;其次,文章剖析了世界英语和通用英语的理论基础及二者在标准问题和政治问题上的主张与矛盾,并在此基础上深究了产生矛盾的根源。The standard issue of the globalization of English has been in hot debate for many years, and no agree- ment has been reached. The reasons are twofold： 1 ） the standard issue is in essence the issue of politics; 2） peo- ple have formed some fallacies when studying the issues of standard and politics in the globalization of With this in mind, the authors firstly probe into the role politics has played in the process of English language standardiza- tion, and thus hold that the norm of English in global context should be based on British or American varieties. In addition, why people propose indigenized theories are also briefly explained in this part. Then, the authors explore in detail the theoretical bases of World Englishes and ELF （ self-contradictions on the issues of standard and politics of English as a Lingua Franca）, as well as their views and English. Based upon all these discussions, the authors make a through survey of the reasons that lead into such self-contradictions.
