《海国胜游草》考辨三则——兼议对斌椿海外纪游诗的评价

摘　　要：斌椿《海国胜游草》为晚清时期华人欧游不可多得之诗录。本文条辨三事:1.丁韪良对斌椿咏洋泾浜诗的误读;2.斌椿咏荷兰诗在当地的翻译和发表;3.斌椿在瑞典的酬应之诗及相关史实。斌椿具有竹枝词风格的纪游诗,记录了西洋景的真画图,具有中西文化交流的积极价值,不能和一般"打油诗"等量齐观。Bin Chun＇s Hai Guo Sheng You Cao（or Desultory Notes of a Happy Trip to the Overseas Countries） is a rare specimen of the poetic records of the trips by the Late Qing Chinese to the Europe.This essay discusses the following three topics： 1.W.A.P.Martin＇s misunderstanding of Bin Chun＇s poems about Yang King Pang;2.Bin Chun＇s poem about the Netherlands,its translation and publishing by the local newspapers;3.Bin Chun＇s poems dedicated to the Swedish nobles and related facts.Bin Chun＇s poems,especially those in the ＂bamboo twig＂ style,have often unjustly been treated as worthless doggerel.However they are a vivid portrayal of the true West at the time and have a positive value for Sino-Western cultural communication.
