摘　　要：美国汉学家卜德(Derk Bodde)是西方最早研究中国秦代的学者,他的贡献主要包括三个方面:他的博士论文《中国第一个统一者:从李斯的一生研究秦代》填补了西方学者秦代研究的空白;他执笔的《剑桥中国秦汉史》"秦国和秦帝国"一章认为秦帝国虽然时间短暂,但历史意义重大;他将《史记》中和秦代关系最为密切的四个传记翻译成英文并成书出版。Derk Bodde is one of the first western scholars of the Qin history.
