摘　　要：在语言学理论框架下,对英语无生命主语句展开全面的论述。以对无生命主语句的误解为基点,阐述了定义、功效以及能做其主语和谓语的词语,进而论及汉译时遇到的种种情况和翻译技巧;通过英译汉时的句型对比讨论了无生命主语句的修辞功能;最后指出了"无生命句的语言特征和翻译研究"具有一定的现实意义。Under the framework of linguistic theories, the present paper is intended to discuss non-life subject sentences in English in a comprehensive way. On the basis of the possible misunderstanding of non-life subject sentences, the author first defines what a non-life subject sentence is, its effect as well as the words that can be used as its subject and predicate before discussing the various circumstances of its Chinese translation and translation skills. Through a comparison with the sentence patterns of its Chinese translation, the author discusses the rhetorical functions of a non-life subject sentence, summarizes its language features and points out that its translation are of some practical significane.
