摘　　要：文以韩礼德的人际功能理论为基础,选取了五家石油公司2012年年度报告中的董事长致辞为语料,采用定量和定性相结合的研究方法,对董事长致辞中情态动词的频率和人际功能进行分析,以此说明董事长致辞中情态动词与人际功能实现之间的关系。This paper is based on the study of Halliday＇s theory of interpersonal function, analyzing the 2012 Annual Reports of 5 Oil Corporations, and using the methods of quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis, thus analyzing the frequencies and interpersonal functions of modal verbs in chairpersons＇ letters. Therefore, we could declare the relationship of modal verbs and their interpersonal functions. Besides, the analyzation would help a lot in the teaching of foreign language writing.
