摘　　要：火炭母为蓼科(Polygonaceae)蓼属(Polygonum)植物火炭母(Polygonum chinense L.)的干燥全草,是岭南地区常用的一味中草药。临床上用于治疗痢疾、咽喉肿痛、肝炎等。火炭母也是多种凉茶如"广东凉茶"、"王老吉"及"二十四味"等的主要组成药物之一。自上个世纪90年代以来,国内外学者对于火炭母进行了一系列的相关研究,本文对火炭母的化学成分和药理活性研究现状做一综述。Polygonum chinense L belongs to the genus Polygonum （Polygonaceae）. The whole plant of P. ehinense is commonly used as a Lingnan herbal medicine for the treatment of dysentery, sore throat and hepatitis. It is one of the main ingredients of several cold herbal tea such as ＂Guangdong tea＂, ＂ Wang-Lao-Ji＂, and ＂ Twenty-four herbs＂. Since the nineties of last century, scientists worldwide had done a series of research work on P. chinense. This paper summarized the research progress of chemical components and pharmacological effects of P. chinense.
