从不相关到最佳关联——《四大名捕》字幕英译分析

摘　　要：为了帮助西方受众在最短时间内理解华语电影对白的信息与交际意图,译者应充分估计西方电影观众的认知语境,结合电影画面和情节选择合适的词语作为明示刺激信号,引导西方观众花费与中国观众相似的处理努力达到大致相同的语境效果。本文将以《四大名捕》英文字幕为例,来分析译者是如何用一些看似与中文对白完全不相关的英文字幕将西方电影受众导向最佳关联的。To help western film audience understand the informative and communicative intention of movie dialogues in a short time, the translator should combine his proper estimate of the cognitive environment of western audience with movie pictures and plot to choose appropriate English words as ostensivc stimuli to help western audience get similar contextual effects to Chinese film audience by using similar processing effort. This paper endeavors to analyze how the translator of The Four direct western film audience to optimal relevance by using English words which are seemingly irrelevant to the Chinese subtitles.
