摘　　要："湖北译书局"是晚清洋务重臣张之洞在湖北所设,以译介西书、启发民智、救亡图存为己任。文章以"湖北译书局"译介活动为研究对象,论述了开展"译书局"译介活动研究的理论与实际应用价值,指出国内研究的现状和趋势以及现有研究的特点与不足,以期推进译书局译介活动研究,还原晚清湖北区域翻译历史活动的全貌,为我国地方翻译断代史学研究奠定基础。Hubei Translation Bureau was established by Chang Chih - tung to translate Western books into Chinese, inspire people and emancipate their minds. This paper takes Hubei Translation Bureau as the object of its study, discusses values of its theoretical research and practical application, and points out the status, characteristics, trends as well as the shortcom- ings of the existing research. The study can advance the research on ttubei Translation Bureau, visualize the historical translation activity of Hubei region in Late Qing Dynasty, and lay foundation for academic researches on historical region- al translation activities.
