摘　　要：1994年杨致远等的YAHOO主题指南拉开了WWW网络信息检索的序幕 ,使得网络搜索引擎和主题指南的研究成为当前国内外研究的热点。对于国内外搜索引擎的比较研究、开发利用、搜索引擎的质量和性能评价、搜索引擎的选择等 ,均有大量文献报道。本文从以上几个方面综述其研究进展。With the development of Yahoo subject directories,Web information retrieval and search engines become the hot points all over the world.Literatures in comparative study,exploitation and utilization,quality and performance evaluation,and problems existing in search engines are all covered.the authors review all these contents and completely probe into the research progress on search engines.
