殷焕先先生与联绵字研究——纪念先师诞辰一百周年

摘　　要：殷焕先先生是我国著名语言学家,1946年起在山东大学中文系任教,建国后与众多名教授共同创造了华岗校长领导下的50年代山大文史学术的辉煌。他是《文史哲》杂志创始人之一,同时兼任全国多家刊物特约编委,又为中国科学院语言研究所外聘研究员。其治语言文字学融古贯今,涵盖音韵、文字、训诂和现代汉语语音、方言等诸多领域。联绵字研究是其研究的一个侧面,1940年代在西南联大写下《骈辞通释》硕士论文,1970年代末陆续发表联绵字研究系列论文,最后病重期间将其亲笔誊清的系统成果《联绵字简论》郑重交代给学生。他对联绵字的本质、特性、读音、书写、应用、转语、训诂等进行了全方位研究,重证据,重音理,体现出踏实、严谨、辩证的朴学作风和不盲从前人的科学精神。Yin Huanxian was a famous Chinese linguist of the last century.He began teaching at the Department of Chinese Literature of Shandong University in 1946,and,together with many famous professors,helped to es- tablish the excellence tradition of literary and historical studies at Shandong University under the leadership of then-President Hua Gang during the 1950s.He was one of the founders of Journal of Literature,History and Philosophy,aguest editorial board member of several Chinese academic journals,as well as an external researc- her for the Institute of Linguistics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.His studies in linguistics made fused the classics with modern scholarship,covering the fields of phonology,philology,modern Chinese phonetics,and dialectology.Disyllabic roots was one of his specialty areas.In the 1940s,Yin finished his master’s thesis on di- syllabic roots at Southwest United University.He published a series of papers on disyllabic roots in the late 1970s,and finally handed over the personal copy of his A Brief Introduction to Disyllabic Roots to his disciples when seriously ill.He made comprehensive studies of the characteristics,pronunciation,writing,application, sound transformation and explanation of Chinese words,emploting both philological evidence and linguistic prin-ciple,which reflect his rigorous style and scientific spirit.
