摘　　要：1896年,李鸿章的英国之行对改善中英关系的确起到了一定的积极作用。首先,增进了英中之间的了解,加强了英国政府首脑对中国政治、经济的重视,加大了对华资金投放和对时政的关注。其次,李鸿章访英促进了中英之间的贸易合作,对维护英国在华投资和贸易地位大有裨益。最后,李鸿章访英在增加其国际影响力的同时也使其获得了对英国实力和政策的全面信息,为中国调整对英政策起到了一定的积极作用。李鸿章尽管未能完全达到预期目的,但此行还是产生了诸多重要影响。Li H ungchang paid a visit to Britain from Aug. 2＂d to 22~h in 1896,and was entertained enthusiastically as a ruler by British Government. During the period of his stay,Li Hungchang visited Queen Victoria and Salisbury,Gladstone,and some other dignities, nego Naval, surveyed the arms Li Hungchang＇s visit did tiated with them on tax increases, Sino-Britain trade, etc. In addition, Li Hungchang inspected the and ammunition, dockyards and telegraph offices and so on. Though still remained some regrets, produce many active effects on Sino-British Relationship.
