摘　　要：宇文所安通过对中国诗歌的阐释构建了一种诗歌理论以为诗歌辩护,其中心就是彰显诗歌的审美意义。在宇文所安看来,现代性的语境里对中国古典文学进行阐释的意义就在于为现代人提供一种精神价值,以对抗现代性对人性的侵蚀。因此,他的中国文学史研究方法是阐释的,而不是考据的;是意义的,而不是文献的。这种方法虽然有误读的可能,但其启示是巨大的。它关注古典的当代意义;他的阐释将传统当代化作为目的,突出了古典诗歌具有的价值关怀:文学以人性为中心,尊重人的价值。On the basis of the interpretation of the Chinese poetry, Stephen Owen strives for the construction of a poetry theory, centering on the highlighted aesthetic significance. In Stephen Owen＇ s opinion, the importance of the modernity context, which interprets the classical Chinese literature, lies in the fact that it provides the people in the modern society with a kind of spiritual value against the erosion of modernity of human nature. As a result, his research method on the history of Chinese literature is interpretative and meaning - oriented rather than textual and document - oriented. Although it has the possibility of misreading, it has rich enlightenment and focuses its attention on the modern significance of the classics. With the modernity of the tradition being its goal, the interpretation of Stephen Owen discloses the value of the classical poetry ： life - centered literature and respect for the people.
