摘 要:母语能力既是外语习得的基础,也制约着外语能力的提高。在通常情况下,要学好外语,首先要把母语学好,"起跑线"并非学好外语的关键。我国非理性"外语热"与"母语冷"问题同时存在,互相联系,应引起高度重视。外语教育的时间与范围应注意适度,母语教育的"失位"现象必须予以纠正。Mother tongue proficiency is the foundation of foreign language acquisition, and it condi- tions the improvement of foreign language proficiency as well. Normally, a learner of a foreign lan- guage must, first of all, have a good command of his mother tongue before he can really learn the for- eign language well. The so-called "starting line" is not the key factor in foreign language learning. Adequate attention must be given to the fact that irrational "foreign-language craze" and "mother- tongue apathy" co-exist in China and they are inter-related. Appropriate duration and scope should be sought in foreign language education while the "dislocation" of mother tongue education must be rectified.
