文学研究的伦理转向与美国伦理批评的复兴

摘　　要：作为一种批评理论和批评方法,美国伦理批评经历了提出、兴起、繁荣、衰落、复兴、再发展的过程。20世纪八十年代是其发展过程中的分界线。在此之前,其繁荣表现为文学伦理学研究的蓬勃发展,随后因文学研究重心的转移和自身的局限而衰落;在此之后,随着文学和哲学研究中的伦理转向,伦理批评得到了复兴。此次的伦理转向不是回到19世纪的文学批评传统,而是对形式主义的反驳和对文学作为一种认知方式的重新定位。此次的复兴也不是道德批评的重申,而是伦理批评的进一步发展,并由此演变出了韦恩·布斯以共导为基础的伦理批评,玛莎·努斯鲍曼以多元和非公约性为基础的伦理评价,希利斯·米勒以文本与语言理论为基础的阅读伦理。As a critical theory and approach American ethical criticism goes through ups and downs, and revival and redevelopment. Before the 1980s, American ethical criticism witnessed the prosperity of ethical studies of literature, but then declined because of the change of research focus in literary theory and their own limitations. With the ethical turn coming back in studies of literature and philosophy American ethical criticism comes into revival and develops into a new horizon which is not a reiteration of the moral criticism but a rejection of formalism and a renewed embrace of literature as a way of knowing： Wayne Booth coins a new word, ＂coduction＂, to relocate the essence of ethical criticism; Martha Nussbaum advocates plural values and emphasizes the importance of perception and emotions in ethical criticism; Hillis Miller proposes an ethics of reading founded on the textuality and language theory.
