中英文学交流史上的一轮彩虹--论朱利安·贝尔对中国现代文学的影响

摘　　要：尽管朱利安·贝尔在中国只呆了一年多的时间,但是他却对中国新文学的现代化转型起到了重要的影响作用。朱利安在中国期间不仅大力传播英国现代主义文学思潮,也极力抵制中国现代文坛的伪浪漫主义文风,同时,他作为"布派"的第二代知识分子,把"布派"的价值观念和文学思想介绍到中国,也向"布派"知识分子积极地推介中国的作家和中国的文化。朱利安在中国期间还在中国人创办的《天下》英文月刊杂志上发表自己的诗歌和对奥登一代诗人的评述文章,为大力介绍和传播知性诗学以及以奥登为代表的英国左倾诗人做出了突出的贡献。This article mainly gives a brief account of Julian Bell＇s specific literary activities in China with some archives and writing materials he wrote to his family and friends , exploring the interaction between Julian and Chinese modem poets. This article would reveal that Julian has imparted and disseminated British modern culture and literature in China as his responsibility , elaborating the intellectual principle and rational spirit of western modern aesthetics in order to correct and adjust Chinese college student＇s the undesirable tendency which tend to llke the romanticism and sentimentality very much , promoting the further formation of the moder- nity aesthetics , making great contribution to the modern transformation of Chinese poetic ideas with W.H. Auden and some foreign po- ets . In addition, this paper attempts to explore the influence of Chinese culture and Chinese modern writers on Julian＇s thought and creation which has been reflected in his letters and papers and poetry what he wrote in China.
