摘　　要：林文庆是陈嘉庚倾家兴学的执著追随者,我国近现代颇有影响的教育家,厦门大学校园文化传统的开创者。他掌校16年,力倡科学精神及儒学价值观,制定校旨、校训、校徽,修订和完善规章制度,采取多项举措,大力推进人才培养和学术研究,造就一批杰出人才,促进了厦门大学的学科发展和民族文化传承。全面认识和客观评价其办学成就与文化贡献,对于弘扬我国大学优良教育传统颇有启迪意义。Lira Boon Keng is a clinging follower of Chen Jiageng who can support education even dissipate his fortune. He is an influential educator in modem Chinese and the founder of the campus culture of Xiamen University. He had taken charge of the university for 16 years. He advocated the scientific spirit and Confucian values, made school motto, purpose, badge, revise the regulations, take a number of initiatives to vigorously promote personnel training and academic research, and cultivated a large number of outstanding talents, promoted the development of the discipline of Xiamen University and the national cultural heritage. A comprehensive understanding and objective evaluation of the achievements and cultural contribution of Lim Boon Keng is quite enlightening to carry forward the good tradition of Chinese University.
