英文影视字幕的翻译策略——以《肖申克的救赎》为例

摘　　要：影视字幕翻译是一种有目的的翻译行为。根据不同的影视风格,译者应该始终以目的语观众为核心,选择不同的翻译策略。《肖申克的救赎》的字幕翻译是一个成功的范例。译者通过恰到好处的增译、减译和归化策略,对这部影片的字幕进行了成功的翻译。Subtitle translation is a kind of translation behavior that has certain purposes. Depending on different film styles, the translator should take the target language audience as core and choose different translation strategies, so as to meet the needs of the target language audience. The translation of ＂The Shawshank Redemption＂ is a successful example. With the use of the strategies of addition, reduction and domestication, the translator translated the subtitle successfully.
