摘　　要：音乐是介入电影艺术最早、并一直伴随电影发展过程的声音元素。默片时期的电影音乐,有其不同于有声片时期的若干特征;迄今以来,国内学术界对这些特征的认识和梳理尚嫌简单粗浅,还远远谈不上认识的系统化。因此,本文欲通过历史事实梳理的途径,对欧美一些国家在默片时期的电影音乐发展历程,进行一些观察和研究,以图从中得出一些真实的认识。Music is the earliest and long lasting element of sound to be included as a part of cinematography. Music in silent films differs in certain ways from that of sound films, which is an area needing more detailed and systematic research by the academia in China. This essay attempts to comb through the historical facts of the development of music in American and European cinematography in order to come up with some genuine conclusions.
