摘　　要：实施西部大开发战略 ,西部地区应从战略的全局高度充分认识走可持续发展之路的重要意义 ,应采取切实有效的措施 ,着重解决控制人口数量、提高人口素质、合理开发和节约自然资源、加强生态环境保护和建设工作等问题。这是对历史经验教训的深刻反思 。As for the great exploitation of the west,The western area should acknowledge the significance of sustainable development from strategic and over-all point of view practical and effective methods must be taken in order to control and improve the quality of the population,to explore natural resources rationally, to economize on them;and to enforce the protection of ecological environment.This is due to the profound meditation on historical experience and lessons and an inevitable choice for present and future development.
