摘 要:本文应用主成分分析方法,采用2004年与2011年横截面数据对我国31个省、自治区、直辖市区域高等教育与经济发展水平的协调性进行了实证研究。研究表明,从整体上看,我国区域高等教育水平与经济发展水平的协调程度在逐渐加强,但高等教育发展超前与滞后的问题并存,同时发现,高等教育适度超前发展的省份的经济发展潜力更大。在综合分析的基础上,提出以下政策建议:一要加大国家层面对各地区高等教育均衡发展的统筹;二要保证高等教育落后于经济发展水平地区的高等教育投入。Using principal component analysis and based upon the cross-section data from 2004 to 2011, this essay conducted an empirical study the coordination between regional higher education and economic development of 31 districts (including autonomous regions and municipalities directly governed by the Central Government) of China. Result shows that as a whole the level of coordination has been gradually strengthening, while on micro level, it can be found that in some region economic development lags behind higher education development and vice versa. Policy recommendations based on our comprehensive analysis are proposed. Firstly, central government should continuously foster the balanced development of higher education in all regions. Secondly, central government should also ensure higher education investment to regions where higher education are relatively underdeveloped regions compare to their economic development.
