Abstract:Three habitations(3 discs with blank, mud and water, respectively) and 2 media(air and water) with different flowing direction were performed in the experiment. The reproduction behaviors of the sail Oncornelania hupensis including searching, following, pairing and mating and factors which effected on their reproducion actions were analyzed, and the generation of pheromones and its effect on O. hupensis' activity during mating were also analyzed. The results showed that the male raked the initiative of searching, following and pairing. The success rate of the mating declined when the distance increased. The crawling path of the female could attract male, but the male's path could't attract the female. The success rate of the sail mating depended on habitation: blank disc〈disc with mud 〈 disc with water. When air and water flowed from the male to the female, the mating was non- significantly effected. On the contrary, their effects were significant, especially in water. For example, when air flowed from the female to the male, the mating percentage increased from 30% to 50% in disc with water, to 400% in disc with mud; when water flowed from the female to the male, the mating percentage increased from 30% to 70% in disc with water, to 80% in disc with mud. These results indicated that the female could deliver pheromones and the male could receive pheromones. The female's pheromones were mainly spread through water and crawling path.
