Objective.. To investigate the intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) development in rat model by susceptibility weighted imaging (SWI). Methods: Ten SD rats were injected 50μL autologous arterial blood into the brain parenchyma respectively. SWI and TzWI dynamic scanning was performed at 1 h,6 h,24 h and 72 h time points after rat modeling in 3.0 T MRI. The develop- ment characterization of ICH in different time points was analyzed. Results: The display of hematoma in SWI was clearer than TzWI. The volume of hematoma measured trended to increase in SWI sequence at first and reached peak(49.99μL) at 24 h af- ter operation and then decreased gradually over time (34.16 μL at 72 h). Between the two group, there was a significant differ- ence (F= 7.02,P〈0.01). At the same time, the volume of hematoma also showed the same trend in Tz WI sequence(F: 3.18, Pμ0.05). But at 1 h,6 h and 24 h time points. The hematoma volume was significantly greater in SWI than that in TzWI (P~ 0. 05). Conclusion.. SWI sequence is a better research tool and can reflect the development process of ICH more truly in the study of evolution rule of hematoma because of high sensitivity.
