摘　　要："律师"这一核心法律术语不仅在法学研究中很常用,而且与人们的日常生活密切相关。然而,就该术语概念的准确把握与使用而言,其现状却并不容乐观。对该术语渊源的系统考察有助于"律师"及相关术语的规范英译。The legal term 律师 is frequently used m legal studies and closely related to people＇ s daily life. However, the ac- curate understanding and application of this term does not go well in reality. A thorough examination of the origin is helpful to the translation of 律师 and its related terms. The standardization of English translation of Chinese legal terms is a must.
