摘　　要：行业英语证书考试日渐成为高职院校行业英语教学改革的标尺。对行业英语证书的社会需求和高职院校推行行业英语证书考试的可行性进行随机调查,结果表明,行业英语的社会需求很大,并具备在高职院校推行的可行性条件,市场需求急迫。为培养满足社会需求的人才,高职院校应积极推行行业英语证书考试,以满足行业需求,提高学生的英语职业能力。Industry-specific English certificate test gradually turns into the criterion of industry-specific En- glish teaching of vocational colleges. A random survey was made on the social demand for the industry-specific English certificate and the feasibility of conducting industry-specific English test in vocational colleges. It shows that there is a big social demand for the industry-specific English and it is feasible to conduct it. To cultivate talents needed by the society, vocational colleges should take positive actions to conduct the industry-specific English test to meet the demand of industries and improve students＇ professional ability.
