摘　　要：我们现在正处于信息爆炸的社会,每天触手可及的信息铺天盖地,报刊是其中很传统又很有优势的获取信息的手段之一。坚持阅读英语报刊对于英语学习者来说,是增加词汇、练阅读技巧、获取信息和了解世界的好助手。英语新闻的标题是新闻报道的题目,它是报道全文的高度浓缩和概括。对非英语本族人来说如果掌握了英语报刊标题的特点,就可以大大减少理解标题的困难,准确掌握其含义。We are now in a society of information explosion with overwhelming information available every day, and newspapers are one of the traditional but advantageous means of access to in-formation. To persist in reading English newspapers is beneficial to English learners in increasing vocabulary, practicing reading skills, obtaining information and learning more about the world. The title of a piece of English news, as its topic, highly concen-trates and generalizes the whole report. For non-English natives, if the characteristics of titles in English newspapers are grasped, the difficulties in understanding them can be greatly increased, thus the meanings can be grasped.
