摘　　要：从比较文体学的视角来细读莫言小说《生死疲劳》双语平行文本,可发现信息凸显能影响目标文本的文体特征,体现出其英译者葛浩文独特的译者风格。信息凸显不仅源于语言、文化之差异,更是出于译者的匠心独运。信息凸显主要有两种形式,一是质的凸显,二是量的凸显。在质的凸显中,主要有两种情况:一是源文本未见信息凸显,目标文本却出现了信息凸显。二是源文本出现了信息凸显,目标文本则未见相应的信息凸显。量的凸显指目标文本中某些话语的使用频率超出了读者预期。在某种程度上,凸显信息是文体上的阻抗式翻译,无论目标文本是否与源文本的凸显程度或频率吻合,只要运用得当,就能提升文本的审美价值,引起目标读者的兴趣和阅读快感,从而获得接受成功。As viewed from comparative stylistics on bilingual parallel texts of Life and Death Are Wearing Me Out by Mo Yan,it was found that foregrounding can be used as a device for changing stylistic features.By contrasting Mo Yan's novel and its English translation by Howard Goldblatt,with a focus on foregrounding, we can detect the translator style of Goldblatt.Foregrounding may be characterised by two features: qualitative and quantitative foregrounding.With regard to qualitative foregrounding,there are basically two possibilities.On one hand,there is no foregrounding found in an ST while there is qualitative foregrounding shown in its TT.On the other hand,there is qualitative foregrounding found in an ST while there is no foregrounding shown in its TT.Quantitative foregrounding implies that the frequency of occurrence of certain utterances in the TT has gone beyond the reader's expectation.To some extent,foregrounding may be considered as stylistically resistancy as a strategy for translating a literary text.No matter how deviant from the language code itself,or how far from the expected frequency,when appropriately employed, foregrounding may contribute to an upgrading of aesthetic values of a TT,and arouse target readers' interests,and as such it can be regarded as leading to successful reception. Overseas Transmission of Chinese Culture:Case Study of Howard Goldblatt's Translating Mo Yan's Shifu, You'll Do Anything for a Laugh,by XIN Hongjuan,ZHANG Yue & LU Xuanming,p.53 Many believe that Nobel Laureate Mo Yan owes the honor to his Chinese proficient translator— Howard Goldblatt,who is widely considered as'the chief and only translator of Chinese modern and contemporary Literature'.Focusing on Goldblatt's translation of Mo Yan's novella Shifu,You'll Do Anything for a Laugh,this paper mainly studies the influence of his translation on the overseas transmission of Chinese culture.Through the case study of Howard's translation practice,we can find that Howard's English version has opened a global window on the mode
