摘 要:高速互联网及其他移动技术的语言教学应用潜力巨大,但较少研究能够用实验证据来证明SCMC中意义协商与外语词汇习得之间的联系。在本文的准实验研究中,通过选取在线聊天内容,并通过测试和对其聊天记录的分析,研究了SCMC中的意义协商能否帮助学习者在CMC之后依然能够辨识和输出新词汇,以及词汇记忆能否长时间保持。结果证明了在线交流经历对语言学习的积极意义,从而为互动假设和语言课程的设计提供切实的实验支持。High-speed Internet connection and other mobile technologies are of great potential in foreign language instruction and learning. But only few studies provide empirical evidence to prove the positive link between negotiation of meaning in syn- chronous computer-mediated communication (SCMC) environments and foreign language vocabulary acquisition. In this quasi- experimental study, test scores and chatscripts of six 30-minute synchronous online chat sessions are analyzed using an interac- tional analysis method to find whether the learners are able to understand the meaning of the previously unknown vocabulary i- tems and produce those vocabulary items after completing online tasks and whether vocabulary gains of the learners can hold up over a certain period. This result proves that online communication experience is a positive component that can be integrated into language teaching and learning contexts, and thereby the study provides empirical support for the Interaction Hypothesis and the design of language curriculum.
