摘　　要：胡适的《尝试集》出版仅月余,诗人学者胡怀琛撰文对之发难,并替胡适改诗,由此引发一场笔墨官司。嗣后胡怀琛搜集相关书信文章汇成《尝试集批评与讨论》一书出版。细读《尝试集批评与讨论》史料可见:胡怀琛对胡适的态度平和低调,而胡适对胡怀琛的态度则轻蔑傲慢;胡怀琛评改《尝试集》的目的是打磨新诗艺术。胡怀琛的诗学观念亦新且旧,学人对胡怀琛的评价不高,但胡怀琛对《尝试集》的评改,从批评实践层面为五四新诗建设提供了诸多诗学启示。just more than a month after the publication of Chang Shi ji of Hu Shi,the poet and scholar Hu Hua-ichen wrote articles criticizing and changing the verse,later Hu Huaichen collected the relevant articles into his book Criticism and Discussion on Chang Shi ji. From the historical data in Criticism and Discussion on Chang Shi ji,the readers may see Hu Huaiche’s attitude to Hu shi quiet and low-key;while Hu Shi’s attitude toward Hu Huaichen contemptuous and arrogance. Due to his poetics idea is new and also old,the other scholars didn’t think highly of Hu huaichen. But criticizing and changing Chang Shi ji by Hu Huaichen provided the poetic in-spiration for the construction of the May fourth new poetry from the aspect of critical practice.
