摘  要:中国历史上重人文、轻理工的传统和中国高等教育的外生性特征,使科技与人文二维冲突尤为激烈,并出现从"道""艺"之争,到"中学""西学"的对抗,直至现阶段培养"工具人"与"精神成人"的争鸣。通过构建中国高等教育文化二维思路模型,证明科技主义与人文主义之争是贯穿中国高等教育历程的文化二维思路。高等教育中的人文与科技思路没有固定的、一劳永逸的路径,应在不断变化的时空背景下彼此不断消长,在相互磨合中找到最佳着力点。The dispute between “Scientism” and “Humanism” of higher education has been going on for years in the history of university education in both eastern and western countries. In China, priorities have been placed to Humanism rather than to Scientism, only to make an even greater conflict between science and human-ity education in universities which can be traced back to the conflict between “TAO” ( Ideas ) and “YI”( skills) in ancient times, the conflict between“Chinese Studies” and“Western Studies” in modern times, and today’ s dispute between“the cultivation of technical Man” and“the cultivation of spiritual Man.” By construc-ting a “Two-dimensional Cultural Thinking Model,” this paper holds that the dispute between Scientism and Humanism has always been the two conflicting sides of Chinese higher education. There is no fixed and set easy path for science and humanity education to go in higher education in China;thereafter it is utterly important for the two thinking models to find an appropriate integrating point between them in their respective ebb and flow and a mutual inclusion in the constantly changing world.
