The Beginning,Evolution and Development Trend of Business English Teaching in China

摘　　要：本文简要回顾了商务英语专业的发展脉络,介绍了该专业应运而生的前因后果,阐述了该专业的设立和我国外经贸事业发展之间的紧密关系、该专业建设的现状,以及中国商务英语研究会在该专业的创立和建设中发挥的作用,特别强调了在制定教学质量国家标准时,应该充分考虑经济全球化的大背景和我国外经贸事业发展的大趋势。研究提出有条件的学校在确定培养目标时应该着眼于国际型人才的培养,根据已经发生变化的情况重新定义商务英语的内涵,人才培养规格应该从主要适应传统货物贸易向能够适应现代服务贸易转变,要兼顾知识和能力的专业化和复合型,各校应该细分需求,办出特色。This paper reviews the evolution of business English teaching in China,introduces the causes and effects of the establishment of Business English as a specialty,expounds the relationship between the development of the international business of China and Business English education,describes the current situation of Business English as a specialty and the role the China Association of International Business English of CAIT played,and lays stress on the consideration of the economic globalization and quick development of international business of China in drafting The National Standard of Teaching Quality for Foreign Language Programs.The paper ends with the following ideas:the train objective of the specialty should be upgraded and the internationalized talents should be trained by leading universities,the term Business English should be redefined in accordance with the changed situation,the focal point of the specifications of talents should be changed from trade-in-goods-oriented to trade-in-services-oriented,consideration should be given to both specialization and compoundness of students' knowledge and skills,the niche need of the society should be searched out by each university and students should be trained to have distinguishing features.
