摘　　要：建立了遗传算法市政给水管网优化模型，阐述了应用遗传算法进行给水管网优化设计的原理、特点，并对某小区管网改建工程进行优化求解，介绍了遗传算法模型的设计参数选取情况．A genetic algorithm model is developed for the least cost layout and design of pipeline network for water distribution system The principal of genetic algorithms and some parameters in genetic algorithms is explained in this paper A case study concerning existing water distribution network is given
