摘　　要：方丘神话来源于古代夏至祭地之典，并曲折地反映了古代的婚恋，生育习俗。《外国图》的作者不明乎此，将“方丘”看作“殊方异域”而志其“浴水而孕”之怪，实际上，方丘之上，潢水之滨并非“纯阴无田”。方丘神话不过是给古代祭典与婚恋、生育习俗披上了一层神秘的外衣而已。The fang qiu mythology originated from the ancient ceremony of offering sacrifice to the earth at the Summer Solstice and reflects customs of love, marriage and child-birth in the ancient times.This theme,however,is not treated in Wai Guo Tuo whose author interprets fang qiu as 'foreign land' and classifies the mythology as deluge mythology. Some of the terms in this book, as a matter of fact, should be otherwise interpreted and the whole mythology is actually a description of the customs of sacrificial ceremonies,love,marriage and child-birth in the disguise of mysticism.
