摘　　要：20世纪现代主义文学是世界文学史上一场特殊而复杂的文学大变革，它以其背离传统、鼎新革旧的艺术形式以及荒唐奇异的扭曲形象来折射现代社会中的人生百态。本文试图以海明威、福克纳等美国作家的短篇小说为例，探寻20世纪美国短篇所表现的现代主义艺术特征，旨在体现这一时期美国短篇小说在形式、结构、表现形式及语言等方面的多样性、新奇性和灵活性，同时也留给现代读者更深广和回味空间。The 20th century American literature is regarded as a special and complex innovation in the literary history of the world. It reflects modern reality through a set of diverse novel artistic forms and distorted characters. This paper attempts to seek the artistic features reflected in the 20th century American short stories such as the works by Hemingway, Faulkner, Steinbeck and so on. It aims to demonstrate the novelty, diversity and flexibility in literature of this period through its form, structure, technique and language, etc.
