摘　　要：目的　探讨原发性食管癌中血管内皮生长因子 (VEGF)的表达与生物学行为和预后的关系。方法　随访 1989～ 1991年间 84例食管癌术后病例 ,应用免疫组化法检测VEGF的表达及微血管密度。结果　 84例食管癌中 ,VEGF蛋白阳性 5 1例 (6 0 .7% ) ,VEGF的表达与肿瘤内微血管密度有关 (P <0 .0 1) ,并且与临床病理分期、浸润深度、局部淋巴结转移有关。结论　VEGF的表达与食管癌的生物学行为有关 。Objective To study the relationship between vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression and biological behavior and prognosis in esophageal carcinoma. Methods ”BSurgical specimens from 84 primary esophageal carcinomas were examined for VEGF expression and microvessel density by immunohistochemical staining. ”HResults Fifty-one (60.7%) of the 84 esophageal carcinomas were positive for VEGF protein. There was a close correlation between VEGF positivity and microvessel density ( P <0.01). VEGF expression was significantly associated with advanced stage, depth of invasion and lymph node status. The patients positive for VEGF expression had higher incidence of distant metastases after surgery and poorer prognosis. Conclusion The VEGF expression is related to the aggressive behavior in esophageal carcinoma and has important prognostic significance.
