摘　　要：Search operations in database require special support at physical level in conventional databse as well as in spatial database. However ,index mechnism in conventional databases cannot efficiently access spatial data because of their specialty. This apaer gives a survey and analysis of spatial access methods from various points of view. Finally, the spatial access method used in SADBS,a spatial anaysis DBMS developed by us ,is introduced.Search operations in database require special support at physical level in conventional databse as well as in spatial database.
