企业创新中的“双元平衡”一直重要吗?——基于机器学习的动态分析

摘　　要：针对探索式创新、利用式创新及其平衡对企业绩效的影响,现有研究多基于静态的视角和方法。应用遍历理论,采用“机器学习”的前沿方法,深入探究了探索式创新和利用式创新的平衡与企业成长绩效和企业财务绩效之间的多维度、阶段性和非线性的动态演化规律。结果发现:第一,对于企业成长绩效,当创新水平较低时,无论提升探索式创新还是利用式创新,都能够促使企业成长绩效较快提升;第二,对于企业财务绩效,当创新水平较低时,在利用式创新和探索式创新的交替作用下,企业财务绩效得到逐步提升,即在企业创新水平较低时,两类创新的平衡对企业绩效的提升不显著。第三,当创新水平较高时,无论是对企业成长绩效还是企业财务绩效,都适用“双元平衡”理论,即探索式创新和利用式创新的平衡更加有利于企业绩效的提升。To identify the influence of the explorative innovation and exploitative innovation of enterprises, as well as to find the ambidexterity of both explorative and exploitative innovations on the corporate performance,most existing studies use static views and methodologies. By employing ergodic theory and applying the most advanced machine-leaning methods, this study explores the rules of multi-dimensional, phased and non-linear dynamic evolution between the explorative and exploitative innovations and the corporate performance. Following conclusions are obtained. First, regarding corporate growth performance, when both the explorative and exploitative innovations are at a low level, the enhancement of the explorative innovation or exploitative innovation may rapidly lift the corporate growth performance. Second, in terms of corporate financial performance, when both the explorative and exploitative innovations are at a low level, the explorative innovation and exploitative innovation can promote the corporate financial performance alternately. Third, when the innovations are at a high level, the theory of ambidexterity’ is more applicable to find a balance between the explorative and exploitative innovations for the enhancement of the corporate performance.
