On Chinese Newspaper Reading Proficiency and Levels of Chinese Reading Competence

摘　　要：目前的《国际汉语教学通用课程大纲》和HSK考试大纲是评估汉语阅读能力的参考标准。但两个大纲对汉语四级、五级的阅读能力等级划分比较抽象,对是否具备独立、灵活阅读能力界定不清。阅读中文报纸是日常的主要活动之一,也是评估汉语阅读能力的参考标准之一。本研究以《人民日报》海外版真实语料,结合《欧洲语言共同参考框架》阅读能力等级,对342名HSK四级、五级水平的留学生进行阅读测试,以此讨论HSK五级汉语阅读能力等级的界定问题。International Curriculum for Chinese Language Education and Chinese Proficiency Test Syllabus( HSK) are the main references for Chinese reading proficiency assessment. But there is no clear boundary between HSK Level 4 and HSK Level 5 as to whether learners are competent in independent and free reading activities. Reading newspaper is one of the daily activities and can be regarded as the reference criteria for Chinese reading competence assessment. This article takes the corpus of People’s Daily Overseas Edition as the data and the criteria of the Common European Framework of Reference for Language( CEFR) as a reference,draws on the results of the reading competence tests of 342 Chinese university students from overseas who have passed HSK Level 4 and HSK Level 5,and discusses the definition of the Chinese reading competence of HSK Level 5.
