EFFECTS OF SCALLOP EXTRACT ON SERUM LIPIDS AND LIPOPEROXIDATION IN EXPERIMENTAL HYPERLIPIDEMIC RATS

摘  要:To study the effet of scallop extract from the experimental rats on blood lipid and lipoperoxidation,40 rats(Wislin, The weight of body is about 200 (±20g) had been fed with the high fat diet for 30 days to abtain hyperlipidemic rat model.Then the 40 rats were randomly divided into four groups (10 rats /group): Hyperlipidemia group and scallop extract group. Hyperlipidemia group was continuously fed with the high fat diet. Scallop extract group was given scallop extract by gastrointestinal injection at a daily dose when raised with the high fat diet. Moreover the control group (10 rats /group) raised with the basal diet was established. The test had been conducted for 30 days. The blood of rat tail was taken out to determine the levels of TC, TG, LDL C, HDL C, GSH Px, SOD and LPO. The results showed that scallop extract could markedly decrease the contents of TC, TG, LDL C in the serum of the experimental hyperlipidemic rats(P<0.01), and significantly increase the levels of serum HDL C (P<0.01). Levels of blood LPO in groups of scallop extract were much lower than that of in hyperlipidemia group. Meanwhile, the GSH Px and SOD activities of blood in groups of scallop extract were much higher than those of in Hyperlipidemia group.
