摘　　要：英汉两种语言都有丰富的词汇及其赖以产生的源远流长的文化历史 ,这两种语言文化词汇内涵的形成有语用心理文化、民俗文化及其褒贬意义的制约等诸多方面的原因 。The study of cultural connotative meaning of words is one of the main concerns of cultural linguistics. As both English and Chinese have large vocabularies and long cultural histories, they are taken as examples to show the formation of connotative meaning of words from the point of view of psychological culture, customary culture and restrictive factors of appraisement. The vocabularies will be analyzed and classified according to their referential meaning and functional characteristics.
