摘　　要：专业英语作为大学英语教学的补充越来越引起人们的重视。根据旅游英语的属性,旅游英语教学的目标与特点,则旅游英语教学应以学生的实际需求为中心,注重文化教学,提高学生语言综合运用能力,从而提高学生的职业技能。More attention has been paid to subject-based English teaching recently, which is complementary to college English teaching. The paper explains the nature of English for tourism, analyses its teaching purpose and characteristics. Then it points out that its teaching should put the students' needs in the first place, emphasize cultural teaching, aim at improving the intercultural communicative abilities and professional skills of the students. Lastly it offers some suggestions.
