摘　　要：尽管可持续发展的概念已被世界普遍接受 ,但可持续发展的实践成效不大 ,因此 ,考究可持续发展的提出及其精神要义 ,对当今社会的可持续发展实践具有重要的意义 .首先 ,可持续发展观念亘古有之 ,源远流长 ,是一个古老常新的话题 .其次 ,可持续发展是在生态危机日益严重的状况下提出的 ,是人类面对自身生存危机的积极选择 .最后 ,可持续发展观念对消除传统发展观的缺陷具有积极的意义 。Although the concept of sustainable development has been widely accepted in the world, it didn't gain much success in practice. Therefore, it's greatly important to do some research on the advancement and essence of the sustainable development for the practising of modern society's sustainable development. First, this concept is original and lasting, also an old but new topic. Next, the concept has been advanced with the ecological crisis getting more serious. It's an active choice of human beings in face of living crisis. Last, the concept of development plays an active part in eliminating the shortcomings of the traditional concept. And it embodies human's completely new ethical spirit.\;
