α catenin(- ) / β catenin(- )表达者最易发生淋巴结转移 ,α catenin(+ ) / β catenin(- )表达者易发生肝转移。结论 :检测α ,βObjective To research the relationship between coexpression of α ,β catenin and invasion and metastasis of gastric cancer. Methods To perform ABC method to immunostain for α and β catenin antibody in the same postoperation samples of gastric cancers, then to number the proportion of positive cells. Results Both of these catenins were expressed strongly in all of the normal gastric epithelial cells. The positive expression rate of α and β catenin in 38 cases of gastric cancers was 28 9%(11/38) and 50%(19/38) respectively. In cancers with lymph node metastasis, the positive expression of α and β catenin was 8 7%(2/23) and 26 1%(6/23),which was significantly lower than in node negative tumors (P<0 01).The common positive and negative expression of these two catenins was 30% and 36 9% respectively.Lymph node metastasis is easy to occur in the cancers with α catenin(-)β-catenin(-)expression,whereas liver metastasis is the most common in the cancers with α catenin(+)β catenin(-)expression.Conclusions The detection of coexpression may be more exact and sensitive at predicting invasion and metastasis of gastric cancer.
