摘　　要：英语和汉语分属印欧语系和汉藏语系。英语和汉语的语音系统有其相同之处,也有很大区别。作为英语教师(特别是大学英语教师),更系统地了解这两种语言的区别才能更好地帮助学生提高英语学习的效率。English and Chinese belong to the Indo-European language family and Sino-Tibetan language family respectively. English and Chinese phonetic systems possess their similarities, but there are also great differences. As English teachers （espe-cially college English teachers）, they should more systematically learn about the differences between the two languages, in order to better help students improve the efficiency of English learning.
