摘　　要：伦理批评在西方有着悠久的历史,但在上世纪理论热潮的冲击下,它被逐渐冷落。近三十年来,随着以后现代主义为代表的文学理论热潮退去,批评家开始重新审视文学批评的伦理视角,于是伦理学转向或者说伦理批评的复兴成为北美文学批评界一个非常显著的发展态势。伦理批评要求批评家关注文学的伦理内涵和读者的伦理关切,进而试图恢复文学批评活动在公共生活中的作用和影响。但它还需要进一步摆脱传统伦理批评固有的道德基础主义的影响,并且处理好伦理批评与道德批评和政治批评之间的关系,这样才更有可能真正复兴文学批评的公共职能。There has been a long tradition of ethical cri^ticism in the history of western literary criticism,which only got neglected because of the attack from'Theories'in the last century.With the recession of literary theories represented by the death of postmodernism in the past 30 years,however,critics began to reconsider the ethical perspective of literary criticism.Thus the turn to ethics,or the resurgence of ethical cri^ticism in the north American literary criticism,became a very significant trend of development.Claiming for the critics'engagement with the ethical implication of literary texts as well as the ethical concerns of the readers,ethical criticism endeavors to restore the influential role of literary criticism in public life.Such an aim,however,can be achieved only after it has overcome the foundationalism and moral doctrinarism of traditional ethical criticism,while keeping a reasonable relationship with moral and political criticism.
