Treating alzheimer's disease with Chinese materia medica

摘　　要：目的:观察中药益智康脑丸补肾益脾健脑生髓的方法治疗阿尔茨海默病,观察其临床治疗疗效及对人体的安全性。方法:采用区组随机、对照、非盲法观察。分组:共观察300例,治疗组与对照组按2:1比例进行区组随机分组。治疗组脑萎缩丸,口服,每次3丸,每日3次。对照组脑复康片[天津金世制药有限公司生产,津卫药准字(1995)第002686号],口服,每次3片,每日3次,疗程:4周,观察期间不用其它治疗本病药物。结果:治疗组临床疗效总有效率为82%;对照组临床疗效总有效率为83%。各种症状、体征治疗后,均有明显改善,P<0.01,差异有显著性意义,但治疗组与对照组比较,P均>0.05,治疗组与对照组比较无显著性,提示脑萎缩丸对脾肾两虚证痴呆有较好的临床疗效,与对照药相似。结论:临床症状疗效结果表明,各种症状治疗后均有明显改善,提示脑萎缩丸可明显改善脾肾两虚证痴呆的临床症状,与对照药相似。Objective：To observe the clinical effects and safety of treating Alzheimer＇s disease with the Intelligence-promoting and Brain-restoring Pill which tonifys the kidney, benefits the spleen, strengthens the brain and generates the marrow. Methods： Open randomized control trail. Grouping： 300 cases were observed in the treatment group and the control group in a 2：1 ratio block randomization. Patients in the treatment group orally took Cerebral Atrophy Pill, 3 pills each time, 3 times a day. The control group took Piracetam tablets [Tianjin Jinshi Pharmaceutical Co., Jin Medical Permitment （1995） No. 002686 No.] orally, 3 tablets each time, 3 times a day. Duration of treatment：4 weeks. During the observation period other medications were not allowed. Results：The clinical total effective rate was 82%;control group total effective rate was 83%. Variety of symptoms and signs after treatment showed significant improvement, P〈0.01, the difference was statistically significant. But the comparison between the treatment group and the control group showed P〉0.05 which was not significant. It suggests that Cerebral Atrophy Pill has better clinical efficacy on treating dementia caused by spleen and kidney deficiency, which is similar to the medicine of the control group. Conclusion：the clinical effect shows that a variety of symptoms were significantly improved after treatment. It suggests that cerebral atrophy pills can significantly improve the clinical symptoms of dementia caused by spleen and kidney deficiency, which is similar to the medicine of the control group.
