摘 要:赞威尔的折中形式主义自然美学包括两个子论点,即关于有机自然的折中形式主义和关于无机自然的极端形式主义。他通过两个典型示例对前一论点进行论证;通过反驳积雨云反例并论证无机物拥有形式的审美属性却并不拥有非形式的审美属性,对后一论点进行论证。我们首先对赞威尔的论证进行分析;然后做出评估,认为他对关于有机自然的折中形式主义的论证具有说服力,但对积雨云反例的反驳并不成功,而这最终削弱了关于无机自然的极端形式主义的合理性;最后做出展望,认为全局的折中形式主义将是更有前途的自然美学观。Zangwill's aesthetics of nature of moderate formalism can fall into two sub-thesis: the moderate formalism about the organic nature and the extreme formalism about the inorganic nature. He endeavors to demonstrate the fi rst thesis by analyzing two typical examples. Then he demonstrates the second thesis by refuting the counter-examples of cumulonimbus and arguing that inorganic things possess formal aesthetic properties but don't have non-formal aesthetic properties. This paper fi rst analyzes Zangwill's arguments and then makes evaluations on them. It holds that Zangwill's arguments for the moderate formalism about the organic nature are convincing while his arguments against the counter-examples of cumulonimbus are not successful, which undermines the rationality of the extreme formalism about the inorganic nature. Finally, the paper makes some forecasting for future studies and suggests that global moderate formalism will be a more promising view of the aesthetics of nature.
